Im Spiel schreibt niemand Kürzel; die Kanzlei schreibt „year 31 after the Riving“.
Kosmologie
Drei Begriffe tragen die Welt. Tide ist, was trägt: Leben, Magie, Erinnerung.
Fraktionen
The Concordat regiert den Westen.
Personen
Pip Ashcombe lebt in Lanterford.

English
The archive records Vessar as it is today: a world whose sea ran out thirty-one years ago. It keeps what is publicly known and keeps the gaps too. Every statement about the Riving, the Tidewall or the time before has a speaker; the archive never says “this is how it was”.
How to read the archive
- A band at the top of every page gives its classification: canon (name and statements approved) or proposal (at least one name is a working name). More on About the wiki.
- [entry withheld] or “The archive withholds the entry” means something is missing on purpose. The archive fills no gaps.
- Where a place or a system is not in the game yet, the first line of the page says so.
- Dates count from the Riving: BR before the Riving, AR after it. Today is year 31 AR. Nobody in the game writes abbreviations; the Chancery writes “year 31 after the Riving”.
Cosmology
Three terms carry the world. Tide is what carries: life, magic, memory. Ebb is what takes: death and forgetting. The Tidewall is the broken threshold between the two. The archive records Saltglass as Ebb-glass.
History
- The Riving: the day the sea ran out, on the last day of a thirty-year war. The page three accounts sets the reports side by side without resolving them.
- Grey Water Accord: the truce in the winter of the same year.
- Chronology: the years before and after the Riving, with gaps.
Factions
The Concordat governs the west. The Free Banners hold the east; they cannot be reached in the game yet. The Hedge is the community of the druids and stands between the sides.
Peoples
The overview is on Peoples. The Ithreni, the court elves of the Concordat, have a chapter of their own.
Places
- Continents and sea: Vessar, Corvane in the west, Varrach in the east, The Riven, the dried-out sea, and the merchant city Saltcross. Varrach, The Riven and Saltcross cannot be entered in the game yet.
- In the game: the starting region Whitmere with Ambercombe, Lantern Acre, Reedhouse, Fallow Row, Tidemark Post, Old Sluice and Brinescar; the capital Lanterhall; the valley Lanterford Vale with the village of Lanterford; and the salt mine Slackwater Mine.
Where to find a trainer, a vendor or an inn in these places is shown in the table on Zones and places.
Persons
Pip Ashcombe lives in Lanterford. About a name in the south that goes around in rumours, the archive knows nothing certain.
Systems of the world
Warden is the role you carry in the game. Neap is the lantern flame that accompanies you. The Vessar year with its festivals is on Calendar and festivals. For later the archive records Travel and the Tidemark Survey; neither can be reached in the game yet.
Transcripts
What you can open in the game yourself is reproduced word for word under Transcripts, together with the short inscriptions on stones, doors and plaques.
