Was du hier findest

Das Wiki hat vier Bereiche. Jede Seite gehört zu genau einem davon.

Bereich Wofür Stimme
Spielhilfe Wie das Spiel geht: Einstieg, Klassen, Quests, Kampf, Tod, Gruppe, Steuerung, Handel, Berufe, Soziales sachlich, du, Gegenwart
Welt Vessar: Kosmologie, Geschichte, Fraktionen, Völker, Orte, Personen Archiv-Stimme, dritte Person

  • Kein Patchlog. Was wann gebaut wurde, steht im Devlog.
  • Keine Roadmap.

English

In short: The wiki is the reference for Saltwarden: the guide explains how the game works, the world pages tell what the archive records about Vessar, and the transcripts reproduce what you can read in the game. It describes the present state without dates. What was built when belongs in the devlog, not here.

What you will find here

The wiki has four areas. Each page belongs to exactly one of them.

Area Purpose Voice
Guide How the game works: getting started, classes, quests, combat, death, groups, controls, trade, professions, social factual, you, present tense
World Vessar: cosmology, history, factions, peoples, places, persons archive voice, third person
Transcripts Documents and inscriptions you can read in the game, word for word game text in English
About the wiki this page factual, we

Every guide page opens with a short answer. If you are just starting, read Getting started.

What the wiki is not

  • Not a patch log. What was built when is in the devlog.
  • Not a roadmap. Where the project stands and what comes next is shown on the website's status page.
  • Not an FAQ. Questions about account, invitation, money, data and law are answered in the FAQ.
  • Not a forum. Questions, opinions and finds belong in the forum.
  • Not a walkthrough. The wiki explains rules and places, not the way through a quest, and gives no coordinates and no times at which something appears.

Canon and proposal

On world pages and transcripts a band at the top shows how the page is classed.

  • Canon means the names and statements on the page are approved by the project.
  • Proposal means at least one name or statement is still open. The band then names the working name.
  • Guide and project pages carry no canon classification. Their band says the page describes the game as it runs in the test phase, and that procedures and numbers may change with updates.

Only the administration sets the classification. Publication and canon are two separate things: a published page can be a proposal.

The naming rule

All names in Vessar are our own: no names from other games, books or role-playing systems. Every name is checked against the wikis of large foreign worlds before approval. While the check is open, a name is a working name and the page is a proposal.

Contributing

During the test phase all pages are locked; only the administration writes. The reason is simple: the texts must match the state of the game, the approved names and the lore, and in a small circle there is no moderation yet that could review changes.

You can still help:

  1. Something is wrong. Report it on any page with “Report an error”. The report goes to the moderation.
  2. Something is missing or unclear. Write in the forum; we answer there and work what belongs in the wiki into the pages.
  3. History. Every change is visible in the page history, with a comparison.

When the wiki opens for confirmed accounts, this page will say so as soon as it is decided. The plan: the guide with review by moderators, the world by moderators only, transcripts and project pages never.

How the pages are made

The pages of the archive and the team are written with the help of AI tools, following the developer's guidelines and decisions; he reads them against the source. All numbers and rules come from the game data. Pictures are made without AI, as pixel art by code and by hand.

Saltwarden Online is an independent game with its own world, its own names and its own pixel art. It is inspired by classic MMORPGs and is not connected to other games or their makers.

How we write. Pages by the archive and the team are made with the help of AI tools, following Harald's direction and decisions; Harald reads them through. Images are made without AI, as pixel art by code and by hand. Community edits appear in the page history under their own names.
