Deutsch

  1. Fallen. Sinkt dein Leben auf null, erscheint „You have fallen“. Kurz darauf wählst du „Release“. Deine Leiche bleibt liegen.
  2. Geist.
  4. Oder zum Wickkeeper. An jedem Friedhof steht ein Wickkeeper. Sprichst du ihn als Geist an, wählst du „Revive here“.

  • Faded.
Siehe Warden.

Auf One Life

Beispiel

English

In short: On Haven a death is not the end. You choose “Release”, wake as a ghost at the nearest graveyard and run to your body, or you have the Wickkeeper at the graveyard revive you at once. The Wickkeeper costs you a weakness and some durability, the run to your body costs nothing. On One Life a death is final.

How it works

  1. Fall. When your health drops to zero, “You have fallen” appears. Moments later you choose “Release”. Your corpse stays where it lies.
  2. Ghost. You appear at the nearest graveyard, measured by path, not by straight line. As a ghost you run faster, the world looks desaturated, and you see only ghosts, the Wickkeeper and your body. Your corpse is marked on the map and minimap.
  3. Back to your body. When you reach your corpse to within a few steps, you choose “Revive”. You stand up with half your health and mana and are protected from being pulled again for 30 seconds. The protection ends once you do anything other than move: attack, use an ability, use something, loot.
  4. Or to the Wickkeeper. A Wickkeeper stands at every graveyard. If you talk to one as a ghost, you choose “Revive here”. You stand up at once with half your health and mana, but you are weakened and your equipment suffers.

There are graveyards in Lantern Acre, Reedhouse, Tidemark Post, Lanterford, Minehead Yard and in Lamplighters' Row in Lanterhall.

Good to know

  • Faded. At the Wickkeeper you get the weakness “Faded”: all primary stats drop by a quarter for one minute per level above 9. At level 12 that is three minutes. The dialogue names the duration beforehand.
  • Durability. Every death wears your equipment, and the Wickkeeper wears it more. You can repair it at vendors who also repair.
  • Below level 10. Up to level 9 there is neither Faded nor durability loss; the dialogue says “No penalty below level 10”.
  • Remembrance. A Priest can revive you at your corpse outside combat. You get an offer that is valid for 60 seconds and accept or decline. You stand up with less health and mana than after the run to your body.
  • In the dungeon. If you die in Slackwater Mine, you appear as a ghost at the graveyard of Minehead Yard in front of the entrance. You may run straight back into the instance, see Groups and dungeons.
  • Fire. A death in fire is treated like any other death.
  • Lore. Whoever falls is not gone while their wick still burns: the lantern remembers them. That is why the figure at the graveyard is called the Wickkeeper. See Warden.

On One Life

On One Life a death is final. There is no ghost, no run to your body, no Wickkeeper and no Remembrance. The character stays as a memorial in the character list. From there you can transfer it once as a copy to Haven (“Transfer to Haven”) or begin again on One Life (“Begin again on One Life”). A death is reversed only after a server fault, under fixed rules and never after a transfer. More on Realms: Haven and One Life.

Example

You are level 12 and die at Tidemark Post. You choose “Release” and wake at the graveyard. The way to your body leads through an enemy camp; you go to the Wickkeeper instead, choose “Revive here” and carry Faded for three minutes. In a group you could also have waited for a Priest's Remembrance.
