Es gibt eines je Ort: The Ninth Bell in Ambercombe, The Ferry Light in Lanterford und The Lamp and Ledger in Lanterhall.
So geht es
- Hineingehen.
Essen stellt Leben wieder her, Trinken Mana.
Auf One Life

English
In short: Inns are your home in the borderland. The innkeeper binds your Lantern Wick, which brings you back from anywhere, and logging out in an inn builds rest for the next day. There is one in each place: The Ninth Bell in Ambercombe, The Ferry Light in Lanterford and The Lamp and Ledger in Lanterhall.
How it works
- Go inside. Walk through the door: the roof fades, and you see the taproom with counter, tables and seats. Stairs lead to the guest floor and the cellar; at the stairs you change floor with E.
- Talk to the innkeeper (E). Maud Pennick in the Ninth Bell, Bram Oakes in the Ferry Light, Rosalind Haverley in the Lamp and Ledger. The innkeeper binds your Lantern Wick to this house, gives you information about the inn and sells you a replacement Wick for 2 copper if yours was lost.
- Use the Wick. Take it from your pack or from the bar (key H). You stand still for eight seconds, then it takes you to the inn it is bound to. Afterwards it has a 45-minute cooldown.
- Rest. Sit on a free seat (E) or on the ground (X), or log out in the inn.
Good to know
- The Wick. It is an ordinary item: you can lose it, sell it or put it on the bar. It does not work in combat or as a ghost. Movement, a spell of your own, control and any damage cancel it. The cooldown starts only when the recall succeeds, and it keeps running offline. It is bound to The Ninth Bell at first; at another inn you rebind it at the innkeeper.
- Rest (called Lamplit in the game). If you log out in an inn, you build rest while you are offline. In the inn the full rate applies, in Lanterhall outside the inn half of it, everywhere else none. The guest floor and cellar count as part of the inn, the forecourt does not. The pool is capped at one level. At your next login it doubles the experience from defeated enemies until it is used up. Quest and event experience do not get it, and at the highest level there is no bonus. A rest area does not protect against attacks.
- Sitting. Sitting is an expression with no game effect. Movement, combat, a spell of your own, death and zone changes end it. At most two can sit on a bench.
- Eating and drinking. Food restores health, drink restores mana. Both run at the same time and while sitting, separate from rest. You start with four Oat Cakes and four Cistern Water; Mages conjure food and drink, see Mage.
- Life in the house. In the evening the inns are lived in: Halmert Woldby in the Ninth Bell and Halmine Woldby in the Ferry Light have their quarters there and sit at the table or on the bench. At night the house residents sleep in the beds on the guest floor, and the innkeeper stays available.
On One Life
On One Life, the Wick is not an escape. Eight seconds are too long in combat, and any damage cancels it. Whoever is in trouble runs or dies; the Wick only leads you home. See Realms.
Example
You are in Fallow Row and your pack is full. You use the Wick, stand still for eight seconds and find yourself at the counter of the Ninth Bell. You sell to Wenna Thorley on the village square, sit at a table in the taproom and log out there: at your next login you have rest for your first hour.
