|---|---|
| /s | Say: alle in der Nähe |
| /y | Yell: weiter hörbar, höchstens alle zehn Sekunden |
| /z | Zone: die ganze Zone |
| /t | Trade: Handelskanal, nur in Lanterhall offen |
| /p | Party: deine Gruppe |
| /l | LFG: Gruppensuche |
| /h | Help: Fragen an alle, die helfen wollen |
| /e Emote, /me Text | Emote und Handlungszeile |
- Freunde.
- Emotes. Das Spiel kennt vierzehn Emotes mit Bewegung, darunter Winken, Verbeugen, Jubeln, Lachen, Nicken, Zeigen, Salutieren, Klatschen und Hüpfen, und rund fünfundvierzig Text-Emotes in fünf Gruppen: Begegnung, Gefühl, Körper, Fürsorge und Vessar. Du findest sie im Reiter „Emotes“, per
/eund als Leistenplatz. - Zone für Freunde. Freunde sehen, in welcher Zone du bist.
Auf One Life

English
In short: In chat you talk to everyone nearby or in your channel, whisper to single players and write to your group. The social window (O) manages friends, the ignore list, your group, the notice board and emotes. If you feel harassed, you report it directly. The data you show publicly is your own choice.
How it works
- Open chat. Press Enter, type and send. A slash starts a command:
| Command | Channel or effect |
|---|---|
| /s | Say: everyone nearby |
| /y | Yell: heard further, at most every ten seconds |
| /z | Zone: the whole zone |
| /t | Trade: trade channel, open in Lanterhall only |
| /p | Party: your group |
| /w name, /r | Whisper to a player, reply to the last whisper (also R) |
| /l | LFG: looking for group |
| /h | Help: questions to all who want to help |
| /e emote, /me text | Emote and action line |
- Friends. With
/friend Nameor in the social window you add someone. There you see who is online, and can whisper, invite and remove. Up to 60 friends and 60 ignored players are possible. - Ignore. With
/ignore Nameor in the “Ignore” tab you hide someone. - Group.
/invite Nameinvites,/leaveleaves the group. The rest is on Groups and dungeons. - Duel.
/duelchallenges your target to a duel. It starts only if both agree. - Report. Through the context menu of a chat line you report harassment, spam, cheating, trade for real money, an unsuitable name or something else. A report is possible only every half minute, and you have a limited number per day.
Good to know
- Length and links. A line has at most 255 characters and at most three links. With links you show items, quests, abilities, talents, places or players.
- New accounts. Accounts with very little play time write more slowly in Zone, Trade, LFG and Help. The chat refuses identical lines in a row openly instead of silently swallowing them.
- Filter. With
/filter onor/filter offyou switch the word filter, with/clearyou empty the window. You find the chat settings under Menu > Chat. - Help channel. Players with under ten hours of play join it automatically, helpers from level 10 wear a small mark. With
/joinhelp,/leavehelpand/helper onyou set it up. - Emotes. The game has fourteen emotes with movement, among them wave, bow, cheer, laugh, nod, point, salute, clap and hop, and about forty-five text emotes in five groups: encounter, feeling, body, care and Vessar. You find them in the “Emotes” tab, with
/eand as a bar slot. - Zone for friends. Friends see which zone you are in. You turn this off under Menu > Privacy. On One Life the game never shows a zone.
- Inspecting. Other players can look at your equipment; under Menu > Privacy you switch that off.
- The register in Ambercombe. In the village lies a register in which Wardens enter their names. Under Menu > Privacy you decide whether your name may appear in it.
The Tide Register
The Tide Register is the world's register of characters: a page of its own for every character, which you find in the portal at /c/<realm>/<name>. For every character you choose yourself whether its basic data is public (realm, level, people, class and portrait) or hidden; there is no preselection. You can hide all characters of your account at once, and that choice overrules every other.
- The pages never show location, online status or play time and are not listed by search engines.
- A living One Life character never appears in lists or on the world map.
- A memorial for a fallen One Life character exists only if you explicitly allow it.
On One Life
On One Life, friends never see your zone, and a living character never appears in the Tide Register. A line in the register in Ambercombe after your death exists only with your permission under Menu > Privacy. See Realms.
Example
In Lanterhall you meet a player who helped you with a quest. You type /friend Mara, then /w Mara Thanks for the help!. Later someone offers gold for real money in the zone channel: you report the line with the reason for trade with real money and put the sender on your ignore list.
