- Lernen.
- Fang nehmen. Der Fisch landet im Rucksack. Deine Fertigkeit steigt mit Fängen.
Gut zu wissen
| Gewässer | Ort | Arten |
|---|---|---|
| Teich | bei Ambercombe | Ambertench |
| Kanal | Whitmere | Sluice Dace, Lockgate Perch |
| Fluss | Lanterford Vale | Silt Eel, Ford Eel, Fordling, Ferry Roach |
- Grade.
Beispiel

English
In short: Fishing is a side profession. You learn it from Tomas Ashcombe in Reedhouse, receive a Willow Pole and fish at the waters near Ambercombe, in the canal of Whitmere and in the river of Lanterford Vale. After casting you wait for the bite and reel in on time; if you are too late, the fish is lost.
How it works
- Learn. In Reedhouse, Tomas Ashcombe teaches Fishing I for 100 copper and gives you a Willow Pole. A replacement is sold by the vendor in Reedhouse. The second grade is with Tilly Tolland at Canal Market in Lanterhall; it requires level 10 and costs 500 copper.
- Find water. Go to the bank of one of the waters, see below.
- Cast. With the rod in hand you cast and wait for the bite.
- Reel in. As soon as “Reel in” appears, you reel in before the window closes. The server decides on bite and window; there is no minigame.
- Take the catch. The fish lands in your pack. Your skill rises with catches.
Good to know
| Water | Place | Species |
|---|---|---|
| Pond | near Ambercombe | Ambertench |
| Canal | Whitmere | Sluice Dace, Lockgate Perch |
| River | Lanterford Vale | Silt Eel, Ford Eel, Fordling, Ferry Roach |
- Grades. Grade I goes up to skill 40, Grade II up to 75. You open the professions window with K; it has a “Fishing” tab.
- Cancelling. Movement, damage and combat cancel the cast.
- Time of day and season. Which species bites depends on the water and shifts with time of day and season: the eels in the river bite more at night, dace and perch in the canal more by day. These are weights, not guarantees.
- Bycatch. Now and then something else hangs on the hook: driftwood, a find with a short text to read, or rarely a message in a bottle. There is at most one such bottle per week.
- Using fish. Fish is an ingredient for cooking, see Professions; some recipes are pure fish dishes, others mix fish with game meat from Animals and critters. The cooking spot must be within reach.
- Spare rod. If you have no rod in your pack, you buy a new one from the vendor; its base price is shown in the tooltip.
Example
You are level 5. In Reedhouse you learn Fishing I from Tomas Ashcombe and receive the Willow Pole. You walk to the canal, cast, wait, and at “Reel in” you pull out a Sluice Dace. In the evening you stand at the bank of the river, where the eels bite at night. Later you cook a mixed dish from the game meat of a Reed Hare and a dace from the canal.
