Mail, weapon masters and a busier inn

Several changes to everyday life in Vessar went live today. All of them remain part of the closed alpha, and scope may change.

Wingpost is here. At an innkeeper or banker, choose the “Wingpost” dialogue option to open your letterbox. Text-only letters arrive immediately. Mail to another character on your own account also arrives immediately, including attachments. Attachments to other accounts take 60 minutes. Text-only letters are deleted after 30 days; letters with attachments are then returned if a return is possible.

Weapon masters in Lanterhall. You now learn additional weapon families only from a weapon master, provided your class and level allow them. Agnes Steadwell in the armoury at Muster Yard offers them for 240 copper each.

Alt casts on yourself. Hold Alt while using a helpful spell to cast it on yourself. Your current target stays selected, and hostile spells ignore the key. The “Self-cast modifier” setting defaults to Alt and can also be switched off.

More room at the Ferry Light. The inn in Lanterford now has a larger taproom with more seats. The Tapster stands behind the counter alongside innkeeper Bram Oakes. Guests call out their orders at the counter, and the Tapster answers when Bram is currently occupied. These little scenes are ambience with no game effect.

Privacy and mail. Version 1.4.5 of the privacy policy adds an “In-game mail” section. It explains which details are stored for a letter, how long they are kept and when the team may access them.

The closed alpha remains at levels 1 to 15, with human and Ithreni characters and Warrior, Priest and Mage. The status page lists the current scope. Sign up for the waitlist through Join in; places are limited and the alpha is free. The alpha agreement governs how progress is handled.
