Closed alpha agreement

Version: alpha-1 (draft, not legally reviewed)

[PLACEHOLDER: draft, to be reviewed by legal counsel before the first invitation. No invitations are sent until then.] This is a convenience translation; the German version is authoritative.

This agreement is between Strukturaflow IT e.U. (operator of Saltwarden Online, details in the legal notice) and you as a participant in the closed alpha. By accepting the invitation you agree to it.

1. What the alpha is

The alpha is a free, closed test of an unfinished pre-release (pre-alpha) build of Saltwarden Online. There is no right to availability, to specific content, or to the game continuing in this form. Participation is not transferable and is tied to your account.

2. Participation and revocation

You can take part from age 16, with your own account only. We may revoke the invitation and your access at any time, for example for breaches of this agreement or when the alpha ends. You can stop at any time: in your account or by mail to kontakt@saltwarden.com.

3. Data loss can happen

Saves, characters, items and progress may be lost in whole or in part through bugs, restarts or planned resets (wipes). The Haven realm may be reset between test phases. The One Life realm is only reset if a data error corrupted deaths, and then with notice. Deaths on One Life are final; they are only reversed for a provable server fault, by decision of the team.

4. Feedback duty

The alpha exists for testing. You agree to fill in the questionnaire at /alpha/feedback after play sessions where reasonable, and to report bugs at /alpha/bug instead of exploiting them. Deliberate exploitation can lead to exclusion. The team may use feedback for the game without any duty of attribution.

5. No publication without approval

What you see in the alpha is confidential until the team releases it. Publish screenshots, videos, streams and descriptions of test content only after explicit approval (announced in the Discord announcements channel or by mail).

6. Conduct

The forum rules of the portal and the in-game code of conduct apply: no harassment, no fraud, no bots or automation, no real-money trading. Measures range from a note to a mute to a ban; every measure comes with a reason and a way to appeal.

7. No payment, no rights to game data

Participation is unpaid. Characters, items, names and progress are not goods and create no claims.

8. Privacy

The data we process in the alpha (invitation, consent, optional Discord name, questionnaires, bug reports, game data) is described in the privacy policy. When the alpha ends we delete the Discord name and the link between questionnaires and your account.

9. End

The alpha ends with notice or by revocation under section 2. [PLACEHOLDER: liability, governing law and venue to be added by legal counsel.]
