A new name: Saltwarden Online
Until now the game was called Rivenward. From today it is called Saltwarden Online. World, canon and accounts stay, only the title and the address change.

Rivenward was always a working title. Before the first public appearance we had the name checked thoroughly, and the result was clear: the working title collided with a registered trademark in the same field. We do not want a game that starts out burdened with a naming dispute, so we are switching now, while it is still cheap.
Why Saltwarden
- Salt stands for the salt sea: The Riven is a sea that ran dry, and salt and Saltglass shape the world.
- Warden is the role you play: Wardens keep watch at the broken Tidewall.
- The shape of the name stays the same as before: a place and a watch.
What changes
- The address is now saltwarden.com. Old links to rivenwardonline.com redirect automatically.
- Emails come from noreply@saltwarden.com.
- The wordmark has been redrawn. The emblem with the broken ring stays.
What stays the same
The world is still called Vessar, the canon stays, and your account, your posts and your wiki edits stay. One thing you may need to redo: passkeys are bound to the address. If you had created a passkey, create it again on saltwarden.com. If it is turned on as a second factor, the recovery link by email gets you back in.
Saltwarden Online is inspired by classic MMORPGs and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any other game or its publisher.
